With the second of the Presidential Primary votes complete to my way of thinking there is only one clear winner; Mitt Romney. But, he came in second in each contest you say. My point exactly, I shall reply.
First let’s look at “The Corn Huckster”, he won Iowa, but Mitt Romney was right there close behind him.
Second there is Johnny “I have been here before New Hampshire and not won so what makes this any different” McCain. He won New Hampshire by a margin similar to his previous victory in New Hampshire. Then there is behind him that familiar face Mitt Romney.
So returning to "The Huckster" is not a relevant candidate in New Hampshire, making him look a bit like a one hit nobody. That is how many of us conservatives see him, especially when he joins forces to play the “enemy of my enemy” is my friend game with Johnny Mac. Mac is a clear and obvious RINO and no conservative candidate. Nevertheless, RINOs run together, after all, any man who wants to force employer so to look closely at an employee's health habits and outlaw smoking is in my book a RINO and a rather far left leaning RINO at that. In case, you had not heard that RINO is “The Huckster”.
Sadly, Federalist Fred did not really make an effort to compete in New Hampshire or Iowa, he looks and speaks Presidential, but he acts as if it is not his burning desire. I wish it were not so. However, Wishes win no election, if they were the current Governor of Alaska would be a man named Andrew and not the current “Vogue Princess” who has no clothes; that sad state of affairs is another RINO issue entirely and of little importance to the national scene.
Thankfully, Rudy "I wouldn't know what the Constitution of United States was even if it were a snake wrapped itself around my leg and bit me; but I was the face of 9/11 so you should vote for me" Giuliani, has not made any showing in either state and we can pray this is a trend that continues.
All of this leads me to believe that while many may not openly support Mitt "the Mormon" Romney it is he who has been the big winner of these two contests. He has been consistent; and his numbers are nothing to be ignored. In fact, if you compare the numbers of the two states as a whole Mitt Romney has garnered more votes than any other candidate has.
The real test for all of these candidates is still ahead and if Michigan reveals yet another one state winner it will surely be Mitt Romney who is the man behind the scene proving yet again he has not just one state that supports him but three in the larger picture. He will begin to be the one constant face in the crowd on the Republican Arena, if this current trend continues. Time and a few more states, especially the Super Tuesday States will be the deciding factor for many of these candidates. However, if it remains a toss up into the Convention, I would predict that out of the confusion the man who is always second would indeed become the first, while the man who takes the most will be VP.
